In order to
make your visit more comfortable, please:
- Wear loose clothing and low-heeled shoes,
- Leave all valuables and jewelry at home,
- Remove contact lenses, make-up, nail polish and
metal hair clips before arriving.
We must emphasize that your compliance with the following
prerequisites is mandatory to avoid delays or possible
cancellation of your operation.
- Do not eat or drink anything (not even coffee, tea
or water) after midnight the evening before surgery.
This is important to prevent vomiting during surgery
which could have serious consequences for you. Similarly,
take no medications unless so instructed.
- Should you develop a cold or other illness before
the day of surgery or should be unable to keep your
day surgery appointment for any reason, please call
the center immediately so that you may be rescheduled
or further evaluated (412-469-6964).
- If you are not home the day prior to surgery, please
call the anesthesia department after
1:00 p.m. for instructions.
- Please arrive at Room 202 at the time instructed
by the surgery center staff.
